ComputIT and Nammo develop new rocket motor technology for the European Space Agency

Rocket scientists at ComputIT and Nammo are paving the way for a new era in the evolution of hybrid rocket motors. The new rocket technology for atmospheric research and space applications represents a safe, controllable, low-cost and green alternative for rocket propulsion.

On Tuesday October 7th 2014, a historical milestone was passed by the successful test firing of the newly developed large hybrid rocket motor at Nammo’s test facility.

ComputIT’s internationally recognized specialists on mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of compressible turbulent flow and combustion are playing a vital part in the development and design work. The present hybrid rocket motor represents the latest in the evolution of such technology, and the development is supported by the European Space Agency (ESA).
